Integrated Planning Template
Each planning team will add their standard of focusPlan activities first, decide how you will teach each element of the lesson. (see images below) |
Create a new integrated standard together and write an essential question. What will students know upon leaving class? |
Co-Teaching Models
Parallel TeachingParallel teaching provides opportunities for teachers to maximize participation and minimize behavior problems. Teachers divide class into two heterogeneous groups and each co-teacher delivers the same lesson to his/her group.
Lesson length may vary depending on teacher style and/or student needs. Pacing of this lesson is critical, both teachers need to finish at the same time and ensure that the required content is equally delivered. Team TeachingIn team teaching, both teachers share responsibility of delivering the same instruction at the same time. This implies that each speaks freely during large group discussion and moves among the students in the class. Instruction becomes a conversation, not turn-taking.

Station TeachingIn station teaching, teachers divide content and students. Students can work through the content on their own but at specific stations, teachers are present to support the learning of new or difficult content.
Typically this model is implemented when the instructional content is complex, consists of several topics, or has been previously taught, but studnets need additional review or practice. Alternative TeachingAlternative teaching occurs when one teacher assumes responsibility for a larger group, while the other teacher works with a smaller group, allowing both teachers to target the unique needs of a specific group of students. Small groups may be pulled for pre-teaching, re-teaching, enrichment, interest groups, special projects, make-up work, or assessment
